Dr. Murphy’s practice, Westlake Oral Surgery and Implant Center, is located in Westlake, Ohio. Having been in private practice since 1988, he previously held a teaching position at MetroHealth Medical Center and was the former section chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Fairview General Hospital. Born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Canfield, Ohio, Dr. Murphy earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loyola University in Illinois in 1983. He then completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at MetroHealth Medical Center, obtaining his license from the Ohio State Dental Board for General Anesthesia during this time. A Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he is fellow member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the International College of Dentists, and the American Society of Dental Anesthesia.
